Defensive Medicine Doesnt Increase Costs of Health Care
A study by the Journal of Patient Safety has concluded that medical tort reform has little to no effect on overall Medicare cost savings. Comparing data between total state Medicare Reimbursements and Malpractice Reform State Rankings from 1999-2010 did not support the oft touted argument that defensive medicine drives rising health care costs. Sound statistics like these don’t lie.
